Ride 'Em

I have always had a fascination for Cowboys. When I was growing up, I used to sit through episodes of Gunsmoke and watch Marshall Matt Dillon (James Arness) keep the peace at rough Dodge City. It was always my dream to become a cowboy someday...but instead I ended up sitting behind a desk at an office.

Oh well, there went my dreams until December 2005 when I first watched "Brokeback Mountain" front row ('cause we were late) on the big screen. Watching Ennis Del Mar (Heath Ledger) and Jack "Nasty" Twist (Jake Gyllenhaal) rekindled my fascination for cowboys. To a point where I watched Brokeback Mountain at the movies for five weeks in a row.

Then I went on a spending spree and bought anything about Brokeback Mountain including the screenplay, the novel, a bootleg copy of the movie on Canal Street (NYC), another copy from Ecuador, plus the two officially released movie versions...and finally a Chinese subtitled version. I even though of bidding on eBay for Ennis' jacket, but it would have cost me an arm and a leg...that I could not afford.

So, as a tribute to my cowboy fascination, I share with you some of my cowboy picture collection. Enjoy my first set in a series of Ride 'em Cowboys!
